This quote is portrayed in F. Scott Fitzgerald’s novel, The Great Gatsby. The novel begins when the main character Nick Caraway moves to a town in long island call west egg. He lives in modest home amongst extravagant mansions. His neighbor, Jay Gatsby, throws lavish parties almost every night. His cousin Daisy, and her husband tom, also lives in the west egg community. Once nick get an invite to one of Gatsby’s parties he become thirsted into the wealthy lifestyle of the people around him. In his novel, The Great Gatsby, F. Once in her cream dress is distinct change in her personality and is an example of how the cream is a reminder of how she lets a little slack in her moral code. Nick slowly starts to pick up one who his new friends really are. When Nick sees daisy and Jordan lying on the sofa he notices, “Jordan’s fingers were powdered white over their tan, rested for a moment in mine,”(116). helppppppp The color yellow serves as both a signal that purity is decreasing but also a warning of death. As Jordan and nick are talking at Gatsby’s party, they stumble across two twin girls wearing yellow dresses. At one of Gatsby’s parties, “A tray of cocktails floated at us through the twilight, and we sat down at a table with the two girls in yellow and three men, each one introduced to us as Mr. Mumble,”(43). The two girls in yellow highlight the ease from all the white before we have seen to now, where the girls in yellow give a taste of the no so innocent. When tom looks into Wilson’s garage he discovers that myrtle is dead. Tom peers into Wilson garage, “He reached up on tiptoes and peered over a circle of heads into the garage, which was lit only by a yellow light in a swinging wire basket overhead,”(138). Once tom sees the yellow light it is a warning to tom about something major that is about to be revealed. The something major to come is death because myrtle later gets put in that garage once a car hits her. Once daisy hits
